Ag/Commercial Loan Officer

Job Purpose: Responsible for developing appropriate lending relationships which includes the ability to conduct thorough credit investigations, obtain the necessary information to effectively make credit decisions, and communicate decisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. The Loan Officer is responsible for collecting all necessary information in order to effectively underwrite and service the loan and will work with the Credit Analyst in a professional and timely manner.
  2. The Loan Officer must be able to provide sound financial guidance to borrowers while protecting the interests of DWCU and the borrower’s financial condition.
  3. The Loan Officer is accountable for every loan they originate and in charge of the full loan cycle, including any follow up required and collection activities, and will work with the appropriate staff on all repossessions and workout situations.
  4. The Loan Officer approves loans within their authority in accordance with Dakota West Credit Union’s Loan Policy and according to State and Federal Regulations. The Loan Officer will present loans above their approval authority to the Credit Committee for approval.  The Loan Officer must be capable, ready and willing to make sound judgments and decisions in the best interest of DWCU.
  5. If the loan is not approved, the Loan Officer is responsible to inform the borrower.
  6. Prepares the Loan Processor Worksheet and submit the Worksheet with the appropriate documentation to the Loan Processor Group to prepare loan documents.
  7. Responsible to grow their loan portfolio with quality loans and to grow non-interest income for the Credit Union, this may include spending a portion of their time outside the office seeking new loan opportunities & having ability to work flexible hours including weekends to accommodate borrowers’ schedules.
  8. Responsible to cross-sell other loan products and other services of the Credit Union.
  1. Promote the improvement of Dakota West Credit Union through quality member service, promotion of products, professionalism in conduct and diligent work ethic.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Strong commitment to providing exceptional member service.
  2. High School diploma or equivalency.
  3. Previous computer experience.
  4. 1-2 years previous financial institution/member service experience
  5. Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  1. Extensive knowledge of lending operational procedure and policy.
  1. Previous Financial Institution Operations knowledge and skills.
  2. Previous exposure to Agricultural operations
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in a business or accounting related field.

Physical and Mental Demands 

  1. Constantly required to sit, hear, talk, write, read, keyboard/computer entry, reach, stretch, work under time constraints with needed ability for task management flexibility and to perform routine duties with attention for details.

Job Title: IT Technician

Reports to: Technology Manager

Department: Technology

Job Purpose: Install, upgrade, and maintain computer hardware and peripheral equipment. Coordinate technology needs with outsourced vendors for efficiency and cost effectiveness. Assist department in researching, planning and implementing new technologies to improve member address and staff efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately complete daily, weekly, or monthly checklists for technology systems
  2. Monitor computer processing systems as directed
  3. Basic trouble shooting of hardware and software
  4. Set up and deploy computer equipment and install software
  5. Provide training for employees on use of programs and equipment
  1. Assist in disaster recovery testing and planning
  1. Provide daily computer, network and software support for employees of Dakota West Credit Union
  2. Aid in remediating audit findings.
  3. Travel to other branches/remote offices to replace equipment/troubleshoot issues

Job Purpose: Provides superior service to our existing and/or prospective members both in person and over the phone with demonstrated professionalism. Assists members with a wide variety of financial needs such as processing deposits and withdrawals, cashing checks, transferring funds, cash advances, loan and credit card payments, and account maintenance. Opens new depository accounts. Explains, promotes, cross-sells or refers products and services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Promote the improvement of Dakota West Credit Union through quality member service, promotion of products professionalism in conduct and diligent work ethic.
  2. Perform basic paying and receiving functions including cashing drafts, handling deposits, share savings/checking withdrawals, loan and escrow accounts. Handle transaction efficiently and professionally. Balance Cash ins and outs.
  3. Safeguard assigned cash/currency at all times: adheres to cash limits. Adhere to dual control procedure as defined by policy. Balance currency and coin.
  4. Buy and sell cash internally to and from vault supply. Balance vault cash: prepared income and outgoing shipments.
  5. Use effective listening and observing skills to help identify and resolves member needs. Effectively handles member questions and problems.
  6. Spot sales opportunities and refer business consistently. Cross-sell other services whenever the opportunity arises
  7. Opens new depository accounts in accordance with state and federal regulations as well as DWCU’s internal policy.
  8. Maintain a working knowledge of Credit Union’s written policies and procedures that apply to and concern this position’s area of responsibility, including general regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation D and Regulation E, Bank Security and various other Federal and State regulations as they apply.
  9. Process mail and night depository work, process cash advances.
  10. Balance ATM and coin counter, prepare stop payment requests, issue Cashier Checks, Money Orders and gift cards.
