Ag/Commercial Loan Officer

Job Purpose: Responsible for developing appropriate lending relationships which includes the ability to conduct thorough credit investigations, obtain the necessary information to effectively make credit decisions, and communicate decisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. The Loan Officer is responsible for collecting all necessary information in order to effectively underwrite and service the loan and will work with the Credit Analyst in a professional and timely manner.
  2. The Loan Officer must be able to provide sound financial guidance to borrowers while protecting the interests of DWCU and the borrower’s financial condition.
  3. The Loan Officer is accountable for every loan they originate and in charge of the full loan cycle, including any follow up required and collection activities, and will work with the appropriate staff on all repossessions and workout situations.
  4. The Loan Officer approves loans within their authority in accordance with Dakota West Credit Union’s Loan Policy and according to State and Federal Regulations. The Loan Officer will present loans above their approval authority to the Credit Committee for approval.  The Loan Officer must be capable, ready and willing to make sound judgments and decisions in the best interest of DWCU.
  5. If the loan is not approved, the Loan Officer is responsible to inform the borrower.
  6. Prepares the Loan Processor Worksheet and submit the Worksheet with the appropriate documentation to the Loan Processor Group to prepare loan documents.
  7. Responsible to grow their loan portfolio with quality loans and to grow non-interest income for the Credit Union, this may include spending a portion of their time outside the office seeking new loan opportunities & having ability to work flexible hours including weekends to accommodate borrowers’ schedules.
  8. Responsible to cross-sell other loan products and other services of the Credit Union.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Strong commitment to providing exceptional member service.
  2. High School diploma or equivalency.
  3. Previous computer experience.
  4. 1-2 years previous financial institution/member service experience
  5. Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  1. Extensive knowledge of lending operational procedure and policy.
  1. Previous Financial Institution Operations knowledge and skills.
  2. Previous exposure to Agricultural operations
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in a business or accounting related field.

Credit Analyst

Job Purpose: Responsible for analyzing credit and financial information to determine risk associated with loaning money or extension of credit. Scrutinizes financial data to establish trends and gain insight into borrowers operation, financial condition, and management capability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Inputs federal tax returns and borrower financial statements into Web Equity (or other company approved software) in a consistent and proper manner to underwrite the credit quality of all agricultural and commercial loan requests focusing on cash flow analysis and loan repayment capacity along with collateral values and LTV positions.
  2. Documents all risks identified by the underwriting of the credit request.
  3. Compares the results of the underwriting to industry recognized data such as RMA, NDSU, and other such industry reports.
  4. Runs the risk rating model and related stress testing for all agricultural and commercial loan requests.
  5. Compares projections to actual performance and adjust future projections as necessary to insure risk ratings and performance indicators are consistently utilized throughout the credit union.
  6. Works with the individual loan officers to ensure loan requests are thoroughly completed in a professional and timely manner.
  7. Serves as the administrator of the Web Equity software and will be the primary contact person with the vendor.
  8. Prepares and runs the quarterly stress testing reports on Web Equity for the agricultural and commercial loan portfolio.
  9. Annually gathers financial data on all participating lenders and supporting documentation such as resumes and work experience in accordance with NCUA guidance, conducts requisite due diligence and maintains appropriate files on each participant.
  10. The Credit Analyst will work on projects and assignments related to improving the performance of the Web Equity software, risk rating models and overall agricultural/commercial loan process in general.

Systems & Technology Administrator

Job Purpose: Responsible for leveraging third party software to ensure the credit union’s information and efficiency needs are met. Works closely with users, both end users and IT Staff, to provide daily support. Assists with repairing, maintaining, upgrading and installing hardware/software and related equipment. Performs diagnosis to determine source of problems and makes necessary changes. Ensures updates and upgrade schedules are adhered to. Efficiently assists with installation of new systems and equipment. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Overnight travel is sometimes necessary.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining patching schedule for servers, network devices, end user PC’s… etc.
  2. Assumes responsibility for monitoring existing backup solutions. Responds to alerts and swiftly works with the IT Manager to remediate.
  3. Assist with hardware upgrades and replacements (PC’s, peripherals, servers, networking devices… etc.)
  4. Assist in disaster recovery training exercises.
  5. Assumes responsibility for maintaining network devices (switches, routers… etc.) and ensures uptime of such devices.
  6. Crosstrain with existing IT Staff to provide support with existing software and products.
  7. Provide daily computer, network and software support for employees.
  8. Assists with troubleshooting, analyzing problems and making repairs on computers and peripheral equipment.
  9. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination and working relations with staff and management.
  10. Loads software or adjusts settings to ensure systems are current, supported and best practices are adhered to.
  11. Escalating help desk tickets to appropriate IT Staff when necessary.
  12. Works closely with management and auditors (both internal and external) to remediate any findings.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements

Experience required: At least 3+ years of related experience.

Education & Certification: associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
