By Dakota West Credit Union
At Dakota West Credit Union, leadership is about more than making decisions—it’s about knowing your community, understanding its needs, and showing up with purpose every single day. That’s exactly what Jeff Reiter, our CEO, brings to the table.
Raised in Billings, Montana, Jeff Reiter’s journey began with a passion for finance and a commitment to service. After earning his accounting degree with high honors from Montana State University – Billings, Jeff launched his career as a bank examiner with the FDIC, gaining vital insight into financial systems and regulatory compliance.
His path eventually led him through private banking roles across Montana and Wyoming, where he deepened his expertise and refined his leadership style. But it was in 2011, when Jeff planted roots in Watford City, that his connection to community really came to life.
Jeff’s experience isn’t just financial—it’s deeply personal. For five years, he stepped into the world of real estate, helping families in Watford City find places to call home. It was a role that reflected his belief in staying close to the people and stories that shape the region.
Today, as CEO of Dakota West, Jeff draws on every step of his journey:
But perhaps what stands out most is his quiet leadership and steady presence. Whether it’s walking his dogs through town, picking up litter along the sidewalks, or lending a listening ear, Jeff leads with humility and heart.
