Member Calendar - June 2020
It certainly is starting to feel like summer. The June calendar may look a little sparse as far as what will be happening in our communities, but there is still plenty happening at Dakota West.
Between helping our local small businesses navigate the Paycheck Protection Program, sharing profiles of our 2020 Dakota West Scholarship recipients, looking forward to reopening our branch lobbies, and enjoying all these hours of sunshine, the start to summer will be bright and sunny.
Education Matters At Dakota West
Responsible financial decisions start when we are young and continue throughout our lives and Dakota West is building an educational foundation in our communities to guide and reward our students and teachers.
Every year Dakota West offers high school seniors, and this year also current college and trade school students, the opportunity to apply for the annual Dakota West Members Scholarship. Winners will be announced on Friday, May 15. We also support the annual CU Care Campaign which helps fund additional scholarships through the Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas.
On March 12 we announced the winner of our inaugural Teacher Financial Literacy Grants to give teachers the financial resources to integrate financial education into our schools. While Suzy Jacobson misses spending time with her 5th and 6th graders, we are excited to help her bring financial education to her students in the future.
Parents who are adding new home curriculum to their daily schedule can also utilize the resources we offered to Suzy and all the Teacher Financial Literacy Grants applicants at the below links.

CU Care Campaign Cares For North Dakota
Each April the Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas leads the effort in supporting children’s charities in North and South Dakota with its annual CU Care Campaign and regardless of the unusual turn of events, Dakota West continues to stand with CUFD to support children in our region.
When you drive through at one of our branches, consider donating a $1.00 to the CU Care Campaign and help be a CU Hero as we support financial education, scholarships, and other community needs. Last year two of our members received scholarships from CUFD! Students may apply through
Feeling especially generous and able to give a little more? Consider making children a priority every day this April by contributing $30 – one dollar for every day of the month. It’s not possible for everyone to give right now, but we definitely all can care a whole lot right now. Thanks for helping us make a difference here in North Dakota.
