Get Help Getting Started Online

QUESTION: How many Dakota West members utilize online or mobile account services?

ANSWER: That’s a trick question – everyone has access to their accounts electronically, but  you may not know all the features available to you.  If you think online services aren’t your cup of tea, or you only use one or two features, we designed our new Online Access Resource Center to guide you through all our features you’d like to use, or get started using.

Starting today, you can learn about every feature of our online services, from logging on, to updating your address, to reviewing your statements.  Our app is designed to give you access to your accounts all day every day, even outside of our branch hours.  Our Online Access Resource Center provides answers and information when you need them.

Do you want help setting up a bill payment?

Did you forget your password?

Do you want to send money to your daughter?

All of these features are available directly to you, and you can use the Online Access Resource Center to get instructions, tips, and quick-reference guides to walk you through each service.

What Does Kasasa Mean?

You may have seen the word “Kasasa” in our branches or on our website and wondered what it means.  That’s a good question.  If you check the dictionary, you probably won’t find it.  If you ask your smart phone, it may misspell it.  So why not ask the expert: Kasasa.

“So, what does Kasasa mean?

Put simply, Kasasa is a way to get cash back every month for doing what you already do each day.  Do you check your account online or from your phone each month?  Do you use your debit card a few times a week?  Are you enrolled in eStatements?  Then you can qualify for Kasasa Cash Back® rewards.  You can even receive reimbursements for ATM fees.

You probably think there’s a catch, but there’s not.  There is no monthly minimum balance requirement or a monthly service fee.  Kasasa really does mean extra cash in your account each month.

If you prefer to keep a healthy balance in your checking account, a Kasasa Cash® account might be a good fit for you.  You can earn interest rates on your balance as well as benefit from ATM reimbursements.  To learn more about these accounts and what you need to do to qualify for your cash back, visit our Personal Checking page of our website.

If you already have a Badlands Checking account with us, stop by one of our branches and ask us to change your account to a Kasasa account.  It takes just a few minutes, but it will mean a little extra cash in your account each month – that’s what Kasasa means to you.

eStatements Access Online

In addition to eStatements now being available online, we thought we might share with you a few pieces of information you may not have known about your online statements.

One, as you may have noticed on the statements you have been receiving by mail, your accounts are grouped under your primary share account.  When you log into your online account, all of your statements, whether checking, loan, or certificate will also be grouped by your Savings account.

Two, if you’ve never enrolled in eStatements, now is the time.  In addition to giving you immediate access and eliminating the fees of paper statements, you can print and download your statements directly from your online account.  If you've never viewed your Dakota West statements online, the first time you log in to request eStatements, you will need to verify that your computer has the necessary software to enable you to view electronic statements, but that’s all you need to do.

Three, if you currently receive multiple statements due to the variety of Dakota West accounts you have for your family, farm, business, or non-profit organization and would like your eStatements combined into a single statement, please contact us at 800.411.7590 or at dwcu@dakotawestcu.org.

To learn more about eStatements and how to save money by enrolling in eStatements, visit our Member Services information page.  While you’re logged in and reviewing your eStatements, be sure to update your email address on file using the Settings icon and selecting Profile so you will be notified as soon as statements are available each month.
